We’ve all slept in, 30 minutes past the alarm clock, incredibly late for that important meeting. We’ve all had that tiring late night and wished the next morning began after 20 hours. That morning when we wished breakfast made itself. That draining morning workout. Well, this breakfast oatmeal smoothie is for all those times.

The Ultimate Breakfast Oatmeal Smoothie packs a wallop, and is THE way to energise a groggy and tired you, what with Nutella, peanut  butter, bananas, dates, flax seeds, oats and milk. And you can make it in under five minutes!

Since the ingredients have sugar and salt in them, we’re not going to add any more. Plus, you can customise it to make it less sugary (use one banana and use only a couple of stoned dates), gluten free (with gluten-free oats) or vegan (with almond milk). Peanut allergy? No problem, don’t add peanut butter. Don’t like dates? No problem, don’t add them. It will still remain the ULTIMATE oatmeal smoothie and you’ll STILL be left supercharged!

The Ultimate Oatmeal Smoothie | Nutella, Peanut Butter, Banana, Dates and Oat Smoothie (Gluten Free Option + Vegan Option)

Serves 2

Ingredients
  • 300 ml water
  • 150 ml milk or almond milk for a vegan smoothie
  • 4 tablespoons quick cooking oats or gluten free oats
  • 2 bananas, peeled and cut into 4 pieces
  • 4-5 stoned dates
  • 1 tablespoon Nutella
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 teaspoon flax seeds
  • 20 ml yogurt (optional)
Instructions
  1. Cook the oats in water for 3 minutes.
  2. Blend the oatmeal with the bananas, dates, Nutella, peanut butter, cinnamon powder, flax seeds, yogurt and milk until smooth.

Serving: Drink up the oat smoothie while it is warm, or you could wait for it to cool, or you could add a couple of ice cubes if you want it chill.
